In a highly anticipated ceremony at Westminster Abbey, King Charles III and Queen Camilla were crowned as the monarchs of the United Kingdom and other Commonwealth realms. The event was attended by esteemed guests and dignitaries from all over the world, including French President Emmanuel Macron. After the ceremony, the royal couple returned to Buckingham Palace, where they received well-wishes from around the globe.

While the formal ceremony was over for the day, the festivities continued throughout the weekend. Several events, including a coronation concert and the Coronation Big Lunch, were organised by the Palace. The newly crowned monarchs made an appearance on the Buckingham Palace balcony, accompanied by other members of the royal family, to greet the thousands of people who had gathered in the Mall to catch a glimpse of them. The balcony appearance was delayed for a few minutes due to crowd control reasons.

Unfortunately, the coronation was marred by a group of environmental activists who protested against fossil fuel projects and were subsequently arrested by the police. Despite this, the troops gathered in the Buckingham Palace garden gave three cheers for the new King. It was a momentous occasion for the UK and the Commonwealth realms, marking the first Coronation service in nearly 70 years.
