Denial of Women’s Freedom: Taliban’s Latest Restriction
In a concerning development, the Taliban has issued an order for hair and beauty salons in Afghanistan to close down, further restricting the rights and freedoms of women. A spokesperson from the Vice and Virtue Ministry informed the that businesses were given a one-month deadline, starting from July 2nd when the directive was initially communicated.

Since the Taliban regained power in 2021, women’s liberties have progressively diminished. They have been banned from educational institutions, fitness centers, and public parks. Recently, the Taliban even prohibited women from working for the United Nations.
