Reports from the Romanian Intelligence Service (SRI) revealed that a previously inactive network on TikTok, which had been established in 2016, became highly active just two weeks before the first round of elections. The operators of this network were linked to tactics typical of state-sponsored manipulation and seemed to utilize a Telegram channel for coordination. Around one million euros were reportedly funneled into Georgescu’s campaign from supporters, with TikTok confirming receipt of €362,500 from one individual.
